This Pure Ladakhi Shilajit is simply of the highest standard of Shilajit available anywhere in the world. Harvested in Ladakh at elevations of over 3000 meters by a family of alchemists and practitioners with a history of more than 12 generations, the raw material is processed through an elaborate series of Ayurvedic stages to produce the pure elixir found here.

Shilajit means “Conqueror of Mountains and Destroyer of Weakness,” and is believed to form naturally as organic plant material naturally decomposes in the rarefied atmosphere of the sacred Himalayan mountain range.

The energizing and adaptogenic (Note: adaptogens promote strength, stamina, and stress relief) qualities of Himalayan Shilajit have been known for thousands of years. According to a millennium of Ayurvedic research in India and Tibet, Shilajit is a true Rasayan (Note: Rasayana is the Sanskrit term for compounds with tonic and rejuvenating powers) which promotes mental and physical energy, regulates blood sugar levels, stimulates the immune system, increases chi/qi/prana flow, and speeds recovery from sickness and exercise. It is regarded as one of the most important ingredients in the Ayurvedic system of medicine. Modern research has shown that Shilajit contains more than 85 minerals in ionic form as well as humic and fulvic acids. It works as a powerful anti-oxidant, and can thereby delay aging. Traditionally Shilajit is taken with pure milk to enhance energy, sexual stamina and spiritual power.

Having sampled Shilajit from many places in India, Pakistan, Tibet and even Bhutan, we can say with confidence that not only is this the purest product we have tried, it is also the most powerful. An amount the size of a lentil or black peppercorn should be taken with hot water or warm milk, first thing in the morning. Refrain from eating for at least 20 minutes after taking.

Unlike much regular Shilajit, our Ladakhi Shilajit's texture is very dry and will generally need to have larger pieces broken up with a knife. It can be very enjoyable to suck on a small piece in the mouth

Because Shilajit is considered “ushan virya” in Sanskrit, meaning that it possesses a hot potency, one must watch for hot flashes, a drastic increase in sweating, and feeling lightheaded. If such symptoms appear, decrease dosage or discontinue.
